Hello MomocLover! How's summer starting? It's time for warmth, sun, sandals... and above all, it's time to give your feet all the attention and love they deserve. So, in this article, you'll find tips for taking care of your feet that will be great for you. Take note! And if you have any more that we haven't mentioned, write to us and tell us!
Don't deprive yourself of your two daily sessions of foot cream.
And give yourself this treat, not just at night, but before you leave the house, which is when your feet need it most. It's fine to do it at night, of course! But your feet will suffer if you don't protect them before you go out with a layer of appropriate cream. No body creams! Your feet need much more oil than the rest of your body. Use special foot creams; you'll see the difference!
If you notice your feet are very dry, sleep with socks
This way, the cream will be absorbed much better and your feet will be rehydrated. If you also apply creams with 50% urea, you'll wake up the next day with silky smooth feet that feel like new again.
Take care of them, don't cut them!
Avoid using abrasive or abrasive tools, such as files, tweezers, scissors, or razors. These types of devices create wounds that are prone to infection in the summer. Opt for gentler cleaning and care methods. And, of course, if you need more intensive treatments, don't do them yourself: it's best to see your trusted podiatrist.
Use exfoliants twice a week
You'll see the difference! Apply the exfoliating cream in the shower, then remember, as always, to dry your fingers thoroughly, paying special attention to the skin between your toes.
Don't forget the sunscreen!
Like your face, shoulders, and décolletage, your feet are much more exposed in the summer and can get sunburned. Use sunscreen every time you put on sandals and after-sun every time you return from the beach or pool.
Wear sandals made of natural materials!
There's nothing better than fabric or leather to allow your skin to breathe. Avoid plastics and synthetic leathers. Not only are they harmful to your feet, but they're also extremely polluting for the planet.
Have you tried antiperspirants?
They're not deodorants, so don't confuse them: they're products that prevent your feet from becoming excessively moisturized by sweat and cracking. You can apply them after washing and drying. Plus, you'll find many natural, aluminum-free, and environmentally friendly options.
Avoid overusing nail polish
It's inevitable, right? Feet look so pretty with brightly painted nails in the summer... Choose natural and respectful brands that also care about your feet and make quality products. Nails are significantly weakened by the use of nail polish. Especially avoid permanent nail polishes; they are difficult to remove, cause more damage, and can worsen fungus and infections.
Hot and cold baths!
The best way to relieve swelling and burning in the summer is to soak your feet in hot water, followed by very cold water. Finally, you can lift them up and place them against the wall. You'll see how good it feels!
Don't overuse flip-flops
Remember that these shoes are not designed for walking, but exclusively for public restrooms, beaches, and pools. If we walk a lot in flip-flops, we can experience health problems due to anti-algid gait (we shorten our stride, sway more, and strain our muscles).
Your templates always with you!
Buy shoes that fit your insoles or visit your podiatrist to get new ones made for summer, but don't leave them behind! If you use insoles and then suddenly abandon them in the summer, you may experience pain and strain. You don't want something like that to ruin your summer!
Look at them!
Specialists recommend visually inspecting the sole of your foot at least once a week in the summer. This way, you can avoid problems and treat cuts, intrusion of foreign objects, fungus, etc. in a timely manner. It doesn't cost anything, and you'll always have peace of mind if you do it!
